What is artificial intelligence? (explained for kids)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is when a computer learns from examples so it can make decisions on its own — a bit like how you learn to recognise a dog after seeing lots of dogs. Instead of following only fixed instructions, an AI system finds patterns in data and uses them to guess, recognise or answer.

🎙️ Voice assistants

Understanding what you say and answering questions.

📷 Photo apps

Recognising faces and sorting pictures automatically.

🎬 Recommendations

Suggesting the next video, song or game you might like.

🚗 Self-driving cars

Spotting roads, signs and people using cameras and sensors.

Why should kids learn AI?

  • Future-ready skills — AI is becoming part of almost every career
  • From user to creator — kids learn how the apps they use actually work
  • Critical thinking — understanding when AI can be wrong or biased
  • School advantage — AI is now an elective in CBSE and part of many school AI and robotics programmes
  • Responsible use — learning to use AI tools safely and honestly

AI projects kids can build

Chatbot

A friendly bot that answers questions — see our AI chatbot project for kids.

Image recogniser

Train a model to tell apart cats and dogs, or rock-paper-scissors hand signs.

Smart robot

Combine AI with robotics so a robot can react to what it sees or hears.

Using AI safely

We teach children to use AI tools responsibly: never share personal information, double-check answers because AI can make mistakes, and use AI to learn — not to copy homework. Parents are welcome to sit in on online classes.

    AI for kids – FAQs

What is the right age for kids to learn AI?

Children can build the thinking skills behind AI from about 5 years through Scratch and robotics. Python from around 10 prepares them for our AI and machine learning course, which starts at 12+.

Does my child need to know coding to learn AI?

Basic coding helps. Younger children start with Scratch or robotics, and older children learn Python first, which makes AI projects much easier to build.

What will my child build in AI classes?

Projects such as a chatbot, an image recogniser, AI-powered robots and simple machine-learning models that sort or predict things from data.

Are the AI classes online or offline?

Both. Classes run live online through our LMS for students anywhere, and offline at the Techradiance Learning Hub in Sector 7, Dwarka, Delhi.

Is AI safe for kids to learn?

Yes, with guidance. We teach safe and responsible use — protecting personal information, checking AI answers and using AI to learn rather than to copy.

Is there a free trial class?

Yes. Book a free trial using the form on this page and our mentor will suggest the right starting point for your child.
